Swamp Bass

“"The Swamp Bass is a species of Bass that can only be found in swamp water. They are extremely similar to Smallmouth Bass besides their special adaptation; they have chameleon-like camouflage. This allows them to nearly entirely avoid being prey to larger fish and Alligators."”— in-game Bestiary description

Swamp Bass guide

Swamp Bass is the budget version of a familiar fish. The wiki says it can only be found in swamp water and that it closely resembles Smallmouth Bass apart from that special adaptation. In Fisch it is a Common catch in Mushgrove Swamp that bites Worm during windy weather, in spring or summer.

The returns are small. It averages 3.3 kg (2.2 to 6 kg) and sells at C$10 per kg, for about C$33. Among the 742 documented fish that ranks 689 for average value, near the bottom, and 532 of 663 for maximum weight. Base XP is 45, which is respectable compared with its price, though it will not speed up your levelling.

Hogchoker and White Perch are the other Common fish in the swamp, so you will likely catch all three while waiting for something better. Frog Rod and Fungal Rod are both sold in Mushgrove Swamp, and the rods are a more meaningful reason to visit than any single swamp fish.

Verdict: sell it and carry on. Its two-season window, spring and summer, means it is easy to meet, and there is no real need to optimize for it. If you want the swamp's better catches, treat Swamp Bass as proof that your bait and weather are working.
