Warty Frogfish guide

Warty Frogfish is a Rare from Castaway Cliffs that pays well for a small fish. It takes Flakes, appears at Night in Foggy weather, and only in Autumn, so you need dark, fog and the right season together.

It is light: 2.5 kg to 12 kg, averaging 4 kg. But at C$250 per kg an average catch sells for C$920, ranking 333rd of 742 documented fish by value, and it grants 400 base XP. By maximum weight it ranks 445th of 663, so the size is unremarkable, and almost all of the value sits in the per-kilo rate.

That gap between a middling weight rank and a much better value rank is the whole story of this fish: you are paid for what it is, not how big it grows. Rainbow Cluster Rod is the rod sold at Castaway Cliffs.

The game calls it a camouflaged oddity lurking among rocky outcrops.

Verdict: a solid pick for an autumn night. About C$920 per fish and 400 XP make it more than a throwaway Rare, and Flakes is a single, straightforward bait. It is not the biggest prize anywhere, but if Castaway Cliffs is on your list and the fog rolls in, it is a catch you will be glad to land.
