Mirage Toadfish guide
Fishing in Castaway Cliffs after dark pays off if you want a Mythical that is heavy rather than flashy. The Mirage Toadfish only bites at Night during Foggy weather in Winter, and it takes Squid as bait, so three conditions have to line up before a cast has any chance of producing it.
Its weight range is wide: 100 kg at the low end, 300 kg on average and up to 800 kg. At C$20 per kg that averages out to C$4,000 per fish, which puts it 200th of the 742 documented fish by average value. By maximum weight it sits 177th of 663 fish with a documented maximum. It also gives 4,000 base XP.
The only rod sold in its zone is the Rainbow Cluster Rod, so that is the natural pairing if you want to farm it locally. The practical advice is to treat it as a cash fish: carry Squid, wait for a foggy winter night, and sell the heavier catches. There is no need to chase it for XP alone, since the payout is the better reason to bother.
