Depth Octopus guide

Coral is the bait that brings in the Depth Octopus, an Unusual fish found by day in The Depths. The wiki calls it a translucent octopus with glowing spots and a talent for slipping away. It weighs 2 kg to 21.3 kg, with a 5.5 kg average.

It pays C$21.9 per kg, averaging C$120.3 a fish. That is 567th of 742 documented fish by average value, so it sits in the lower third, but its 21.3 kg maximum ranks 389th of 663 by weight and each catch gives 50 base XP. A large one is worth noticeably more than a typical one.

Luminescent Minnow is the other Unusual fish documented in the same zone. Rod Of The Depths and Onirifalx are the rods sold there. Verdict: a fine daytime target if you carry Coral anyway, but do not build a session around it. Sell the heavy ones and keep the cheap ones for XP.
