Rod Of The Cosmos review

Rod Of The Cosmos belonged to the Continental Drift event, and its description states it was only obtainable then. It cannot be picked up now, so this entry is a record of what it was.

On paper it was a middle-weight rod. Luck of 135, Lure Speed of 50, Resilience of 10 and Control of 0.1, plus a weight limit of 10,000 kg. None of these would have turned heads by themselves. The interest was in the passive: a 15% chance for the Nova mutation, a +50% Progress Speed bonus during Starfall, and a chance to catch Cosmic Relics.

That passive explains why people wanted it. Mutations raise what a fish is worth, and the Progress Speed bonus made the reel minigame easier, but only under Starfall conditions. Outside of that weather it was an ordinary rod with low Lure Speed.

If you come across one today, it is worth as a piece of event history and as a way to chase Cosmic Relics. It is not something to plan a fishing setup around, since the base numbers are unremarkable and nobody can newly acquire it.
