Beanstalk Event — In-Depth Analysis
The Beanstalk Event, introduced in Version 1.19.0, is a contribution-driven event open to every player regardless of level, which makes it one of the more accessible economy boosts in Grow a Garden. Its core loop runs through the NPC Jack: you feed him plants to grow the communal Beanstalk Tree, and a leaderboard tracks each player's points so the top contributor earns an extra reward.
The mechanic that actually matters for your farm economy is the mutation bonus. Submitting plants with Silver, Gold, or Rainbow mutations grants 1, 2, and 3 extra points respectively, so high-mutation produce is worth far more here than at Steven's stand. Once the tree is fully grown you have a tight 20-minute window before it decays, so coordinate harvests in advance.
Part 2 (the 1.20.0 update) layered on golden and mushroom beanstalk variations, climb rewards, a summit crafting table, and the Giant friendship system that unlocks a secret shop selling chests, plants, and pets like the Skyroot Chest and Pet Mutation Shard Giantbean. Optimal play is simple: stockpile mutated crops before the event, dump them in one burst to top the leaderboard, then climb for the layered rewards.
