What makes it economically interesting is the multi-harvest trait: unlike single-pick crops, one planted Jack O Lantern keeps producing fruit over multiple cycles, so a single seed purchase amortizes across many sells. That turns its modest Candy Corn cost into a strong long-run yield per slot.

Its real strategic edge comes from its type tags. The Jack O Lantern is classified as Vegetable, Leafy, Fall, Spooky and Fruit simultaneously, an unusually broad spread. Because boosters, pets and event mechanics target specific crop categories, this crop benefits from far more of them than a narrowly-tagged plant, stacking multiple type-based multipliers at once. That synergy is exactly what you want feeding a mutation-conversion NPC during the event.

Optimally, plant Jack O Lanterns early in the Halloween window so the multi-harvest cycles compound, pair them with as many of the overlapping type boosters as you own, and chase high-tier mutations on the regrowing fruit. Don't confuse it with the Great Pumpkin or the Ancient Jack O Lantern NPC.
