Cosmic Gecko guide
A four-minute egg that hands out a full +1m Speed: that is the Cosmic Gecko's real selling point. Its $30K/s income is modest for a zone that requires 700M Speed, but the reward per egg is strong.
Stealing a Cosmic Gecko Egg
The egg spawns in Cosmic, the 9th biome, guarded by the Cosmic Skeleton. Getting in requires 700M Speed. After 4 minutes in your pen it hatches for +1m Speed and $3m.
Compared with the Centapede, the zone's 2-minute starter egg (+960k Speed), the Gecko takes twice as long for a similar Speed reward, but it earns twenty times as much per second ($30K/s against $1.5K/s). If you only have one fast slot to spare, the choice is between faster Speed (Centapede) and better income (Gecko).
Rankings
- 7th of 8 in Cosmic by income, counting from the highest earner
- 5th of 21 Legendary pets, tied with Void Angler at $30K/s
- 145 of the 198 pets earn more overall
The Legendary from the previous zone, the Pterodactyl, earns $22K/s, so the Gecko is a modest step up within its rarity.
Mutation and size estimates
With a base weight of just 18 kg, the Gecko is a light carry. The wiki's documented formula (its calculator is marked beta) gives these rough figures:
- Golden: about $75K/s
- Rainbow: about $105K/s
- 10× base weight: about $124K/s
- 100× base weight: about $513K/s
- 200× base weight: about $711K/s
- Rainbow with 100× weight: about $1.8M/s
Trades it is used for
The Cosmic Gecko is an Easy-tier requirement for the Riftbeasts and Shattered Rift sacrifices. In Dr. Scramble's Laboratory, it is the Legendary pet of the Cosmic egg on all three banners: Biohazard, Experimental and Unstable DNA.
