Lake guide
Lake is the second biome and the first one behind a Speed gate: you need 900 Speed to enter. Its guardian is the Swan, an Epic that also hatches from one of the biome's own eggs at $320/s.
A roster with one huge outlier
Seven of Lake's eight pets sit in a familiar range. Frog ($3/s) and Duckling ($4/s) are the Commons, Catfish ($12/s) the Uncommon, Turtle ($60/s) the Rare, Trulimero Trulicina ($260/s) and Swan ($320/s) the Epics, and Axolotl the Legendary at $2.8K/s.
Then comes the Leviathan: a Cosmic at $220K/s, about 78 times the Axolotl's income and second of the 28 Cosmic pets by earnings. Its egg needs 25 minutes to grow, against 15 seconds for the Frog. Using the wiki's formula, a Golden Leviathan (×2.5) would sit around $550K/s, more than any un-mutated pet in Desert.
From 900 to 10K Speed
Desert asks for 10K Speed, so you need about 9,100 more on top of Lake's entry requirement. Lake's rewards are a clear step up from Forest: even the Frog's +2k is double the best Forest reward.
- Fastest by growth time: five Frog eggs (+2k each, 15s) reach 10k after 75 seconds of growth.
- Fewest eggs: three Swans (+3.5k each) give 10.5k; three Axolotls give 12k.
- One of each: all eight Lake eggs together add 24.9k Speed, well over double the gap.
Per second of growth, the Frog returns about 133 Speed while the Leviathan returns about 3. If the goal is reaching Desert, the short eggs win; if the goal is income, the Leviathan is the egg to protect on the run back to your pen.
Cash rewards worth tracking
Lake rewards pay from $300 (Frog) up to $22m (Leviathan). One Axolotl reward ($280k) covers both the Sci-Fi Treadmill ($15K) and the Flame Treadmill ($250K, +12 Speed per step), which is a better use of it than waiting on several Turtle eggs at $6k each.
