Rifle Ammo — In-Depth Analysis

Rifle Ammo is the gatekeeper for the most powerful standard gun in 99 Nights in the Forest. Each batch reloads the Rifle by 6 rounds, and given the Rifle's enormous per-shot damage, every cartridge you bank translates directly into deleted cultists and downed beasts. Running dry mid-fight is the fastest way to waste your best weapon.

Sourcing it is harder than Revolver Ammo, which is the trade-off for the firepower. It drops from Iron Chests and Legendary Chests, mostly in the Campfire level 4+ zones, and frequently appears in the Armory. You can also craft it at the Ammo Furnace or build an Ammo Crate at the Crafting Bench to produce it yourself, and killing Cultists can yield a few rounds.

Is it worth grabbing? If you own or expect a Rifle, absolutely hoard every round you find. Because it is comparatively rare, the smart play is to set up crafting access early and let the Ammo Furnace or Ammo Crate keep your stock topped, so you never have to leave the Rifle holstered when a serious threat appears.
