Ceramic Stem guide
Burn a Stem on the Fire Sprinklers of The Stairwell and you get something different: a Ceramic Stem, a clay ball with eyes, ears, mouth and nose like its ordinary relative, but colored in yellows and oranges instead of orange, green and blue. The wiki lists Ceramic Stems as a Stem variant obtained by letting them burn, and the item can then be ground down for scrap.
What each formation pays
At a Depot, the scrap depends on the structure the stems were forming when they burned:
- A single Ceramic Stem: 1 Salvage Scrap
- Pillar or T structure: 10
- Ball structure: 20
- Humanoid structure: 25
Cobbler pays 10 Gold per scrap, so a humanoid formation is worth 250 Gold, the price of a Peach Cobbler on its own. Golden Stems cannot be turned into Ceramic Stems.
Handling
Like the other heavy depot items, a Ceramic Stem needs both hands, so the player cannot switch hotbar items while carrying one. It can still be stored in the Rift.
Bugs and achievement
Dropping a single Ceramic Stem gives buggy, limited flight. Putting one in a Briefcase makes it invisible and ungrabbable when unstored, and scrapping that bugged version gives only 1 scrap. Scrapping any Ceramic Stem earns the Clay World achievement.
