Chub guide

Chub is the kind of fish you catch by accident while learning the ropes: a Common from Roslit Bay that bites on Seaweed during the day, in Spring and Summer. It weighs 1.1 to 2.2 kg and sells for an average of C$28, at C$14 per kilogram, with 40 base XP.

The ranking says it plainly. By average value it is 706th of 742 documented fish, so only 36 fish pay less, and its top weight of 2.2 kg is 593rd of 663. That puts it near the bottom on both counts. The wiki describes it as a hardy freshwater fish found around Roslit Pond and calls it an easy catch for novices.

In the same bay, Minnow, Pearl and Trout share its Common rarity, so you will be pulling up a few similar low-value fish while you wait for something better. The area also sells several rods: Blazebringer Rod, Magma Rod, Fortune Rod, Rapid Rod and Steady Rod, which is useful if you are in Roslit Bay anyway to upgrade.

Verdict: do not hunt Chub for money. Keep one for your log if you are filling the collection, and sell the rest. If you need C$ quickly, spend your casts on something much higher up the value ranking.
