Cursed Thread guide
The Mythical tag is misleading here: Cursed Thread is one of the lowest-paying fish in the whole listing. You can catch it in Open Ocean in the Second Sea, using Sapphire Krill, during the Day in Clear weather in Summer. It weighs 4 to 21 kg and averages 7 kg.
At C$4 per kg an average catch sells for only C$28, and it gives just 20 base XP. Its average value ranks 706 of 742 documented fish, which puts it in the bottom 40, and its max weight ranks 390 of 663, close to the middle for size. Nothing in its numbers matches the rarity name.
The entry has no description text and no fish listed at the same rarity in the zone, so the stats are all there is to go on. The requirements are also strict for such a low payout: bait, Day, Clear and Summer all have to line up.
My view: leave it unless you are completing a collection. Sapphire Krill and a narrow weather window are a poor trade for C$28 and 20 XP. If it shows up on a cast you were making anyway, take it, but do not plan a trip around it.
