Fangborn Gar guide

Blind and vicious, the Fangborn Gar roams Vertigo tracking food by smell, according to the wiki. It is an Unusual Voidwater fish that bites on Fish Head in foggy weather, and it has no time-of-day or season restriction. It weighs 17 kg to 79.8 kg and averages 27.5 kg.

The price is low for its size. At C$4.5 per kg it averages C$123, 560th of 742 documented fish by value, even though its 79.8 kg maximum ranks 296th of 663 by weight. Base XP is 100. A large one is heavy but not very valuable, which makes this a fish for XP rather than cash.

Nocturnal Rod and Aurora Rod are the rods sold in Vertigo. The condition that matters is fog, so check the weather before you load Fish Head. Because it has no season or time gate, it is easy to line up with other plans in the zone. Keep it as a steady XP source and sell the surplus, but do not expect it to fund an upgrade.
