Gem Eel guide
Gem Eel is an Uncommon fish of Treasure Island that bites on Seaweed. A typical specimen weighs 3.4 kg (range 1.8 kg to 10.5 kg), but the price per kg is C$620, so the average sale reaches C$2,108. That puts it 255th of the 742 documented fish by value.
Where it lags is size: its 10.5 kg maximum ranks 457th of 663. Base XP is 1,600, so a small fish gives you both money and levels.
Only two other Uncommon fish are documented in the zone, Gemscale Mandarinfish and Goldband Butterflyfish, so many of your Uncommon bites will be one of these three. The Treasure Rod is the rod sold there.
Verdict: a good fish to plan a Treasure Island session around if you want cash and XP together. Stock Seaweed before you go, and remember that its value comes from the price per kg rather than from weight, so a small catch is nothing to be disappointed about.
