Goldfin Octopus guide
Goldfin Octopus is the XP fish of Treasure Island. This Exotic takes Golden Shrimp Bait and awards 18,500 base XP, a very large number next to the other catches of the island. No time, weather or season is listed.
It weighs 30 kg to 210 kg with a 65 kg average, and at C$150 per kg an average catch sells for C$9,750. By average value it ranks 127th of the 742 documented fish, and by maximum weight 241st of 663.
The Treasure Rod is the rod sold in its zone, so the gear is close at hand. No other fish of the same rarity is documented there, which leaves Goldfin Octopus as the only Exotic you will meet on the island.
Verdict: one of the best fish you can target at Treasure Island when you want both money and levels. C$9,750 per catch plus the 18,500 XP justifies buying Golden Shrimp Bait, and since there are no conditions beyond bait, you can fish for it any time. If you are building a Treasure Island routine, put this near the top.
