Iced Perch guide

Iced Perch is the easy one. It is an Unusual fish from Northern Expedition, it bites in Winter, and the bait is plain Insect. No special hour or weather is listed, so any Winter session there can produce it.

Do not go after it for money. An average perch weighs 3.25 kg and sells for about C$180.60, which ranks 506th of the 742 documented fish by average value. The biggest recorded specimen reaches 11.3 kg, 451st of 663 for weight. What it does give is 120 base XP, and the sale price works out to C$26 per kg, a fair rate for such a small fish.

The same zone and rarity also hold Ice Jellyfish and Icy Carp, so an Insect-baited line will fill your bucket with a mix of those. If you are headed north anyway for the Mythical fish, treat Iced Perch as a bonus that keeps you busy while waiting for better bites. Northern Expedition sells the Arctic Rod and the Crystalized Rod, either of which will handle a fish this size without trouble. Sell them in bulk; none is worth keeping.
