Arctic Rod review
Arctic Rod costs C$25,000 and is sold in the Northern Expedition, the same place that stocks the Crystalized Rod. It is a white, frost-glowing rod with Luck 45, Lure Speed 25, Control 0.06, Resilience 15 and a maximum weight of 7,500 kg.
Those figures place it in the lower half of the catalog. Luck ranks 164th of 184 obtainable rods, Lure Speed 159th of 184, and Control 109th of 185. Resilience is a bit better at 105th of 184, and the 7,500 kg limit is 73rd of 117, so it handles mid-sized fish without trouble but nothing heavy.
The real problem is price. Anchor n' Chain gives Luck 50 for C$5,000, Brick Rod gives Luck 75 for C$13,337, and Friendly Rod gives Luck 105 for C$0. Paying C$25,000 for 45 Luck is hard to justify on stats alone.
The case for buying it is limited to taste or completion: you like the look, or you are collecting rods from the northern shops. For anyone trying to catch rarer fish faster, put the money toward Brick Rod or save for a higher-Luck rod. Check the Crystalized Rod in the same shop before you commit.
