Porgy guide

Porgy is the textbook easy catch: a Common ocean fish with, in the game's own words, no special qualities besides its taste and a fun name. You find it in The Ocean during Summer and Spring, in Clear or Foggy weather, with Shrimp as bait, at daytime.

An average Porgy weighs 2.4 kg (0.9 to 6.2 kg) and sells at C$30 per kg, a clean C$72. That is 622nd of 742 documented fish by value, with max weight at 527th of 663. Base XP is 40.

Mackerel, Mussel, Mullet, Sand Dollar, Sardine and Sea Bass are the other Common fish documented in The Ocean, which makes it a crowded tier. Porgy is not special even among them, so it earns the same cheap C$72 as its neighbors.

Verdict: a fish for filling the first few levels. If Shrimp is already in your inventory for something bigger, a porgy in the meantime costs you nothing. Otherwise it is not worth stopping to farm: sell it and carry on with the real targets.
