Crystalized Rod review
Northern Expedition sells Crystalized Rod for C$35,000, and the wiki describes a luminous rod with a bright yellow glow and crystal effects. It carries a passive, though the wiki does not say what the passive does.
Judged on its numbers, it is an average mid-game rod with no standout stat. Luck of 45 is 164th of 184 obtainable rods, Lure Speed 35 is 152nd of 184, Control 0.15 is 54th of 185, Resilience 15 is 105th of 184 and the 25,000 kg weight cap is 51st of 117 rods that list one. The best of these is Control, but it is only a modest edge.
Price is the real issue. Three cheaper rods match or beat the Luck: Arctic Rod (luck 45, C$25,000), Brick Rod (luck 75, C$13,337) and Coral Rod (luck 74, C$30,000). Arctic Rod is even sold in the same location, for C$10,000 less, with the same Luck.
So the practical advice is simple. Unless you specifically want the glow and the passive effect, buy Arctic Rod or Brick Rod instead and keep the savings. Crystalized Rod is a looks-and-quirk purchase, and a fairly pricey one at that.
