The wiki describes Experiment #001 simply as an event-limited egg. It was the big-ticket item of the Experiment Shop in the first Dr. Scramble event (Update 5): 6,500 Samples, listed in the shop as "1/1 left".
What 6,500 Samples bought
Samples came from destroying Dr. Scramble's drones, which invaded the map every 30 minutes; the wiki notes that higher-health drones dropped more. Compared with the other items in the same shop:
- Nibbles #013 Egg: 2,950 Samples, "3/3 left", a Cosmic at $185K/s.
- Experiment #001 Egg: 6,500 Samples, "1/1 left", a Secret at $285M/s.
- Scrambled Mutation: 475 Samples, 10% chance to apply ×2.75 to an egg.
- Boosters: 2x Cash (10m) for 275, 1.25x Speed (5m) for 375, 2x Treadmill (10m) for 375.
Experiment #001 cost about 2.2 times a Nibbles egg and earns over 1,500 times as much, which made it the clear priority for a player with limited Samples.

The wiki lists a grow time of 3 hours 30 minutes. The X2 Growth Speed gamepass (467 Robux) makes eggs grow twice as fast, which would bring that to about 1h 45m. Since the Scrambled consumable works on eggs in the pen, the grow window was also the moment to try it: a Scrambled Experiment #001 would earn about $784M/s.
