Biome in 99 Nights in the Forest · Biomes biome
About
The Volcanic Biome was added in the 13th Sep 2025 update, and it is the 3rd biome added to 99 Nights in the Forest. = Overview = ---- When entering the Volcanic Biome the atmosphere changes to a subtle warm color. The surface is dark grey, riddled with lava pools and scattered with boulders. Plants are limited; a few leafless trees, a few dry bushes, and no flowers. The trees drop 3 logs but zero saplings when chopped down, and take slightly less Old Axe hits to chop down. The bushes are sometimes Scorpion nests. Lava Pools will damage players and non-invincible enemies that walk into it, and set them on fire doing a small amount of damage-over-time. Nearly all items dropped into lava will disappear permanently. Players can fish in lava pools to collect Lion Fish and the Lava Eel. The Volcano Biome has two types of unique chest instead of regular chests: * Blue Spiked Chest ** Wildfire potion ** Sacrifice Totem ** Lava Mine Blueprint ** Crossbow * Red Spiked Chest (only 2 in entire biome) ** Infernal Sack (~80% chance) ** Infernal Sword (~10% chance) ** Infernal Crossbow (~10% chance) =Structures / Locations= ----

Volcanic Biome — In-Depth Analysis
The Volcanic Biome, added on 13 Sep 2025 as the third biome in the game, is a high-risk, high-reward endgame zone. The terrain is dark grey rock laced with lava pools that ignite players and enemies, applying damage-over-time and permanently destroying nearly any item dropped into them. Vegetation is sparse: leafless trees yield 3 logs but no saplings, and dry bushes can hide Scorpion nests.
It is worth visiting for its loot, which is gated behind two unique chest types rather than ordinary crates. The Blue Spiked Chest can hold a Wildfire Potion, Sacrifice Totem, Lava Mine Blueprint, or Crossbow. Far rarer is the Red Spiked Chest, of which only two exist in the whole biome: it most often (~80%) gives an Infernal Sack, with roughly a 10% chance each at the Infernal Sword or Infernal Crossbow. You can also fish the lava for Lion Fish and the Lava Eel.
The danger is real and constant. Inhabitants include Cultists, Scorpions, the Hellephant, and the King Cultist, layered on top of the burning lava hazard. Come with fire-tolerant gear, ranged options, and the discipline never to drop loot near a pool, or your hard-won infernal gear vanishes instantly.
