Hellephant — In-Depth Analysis
The Hellephant is a hostile fire variant of the Mammoth, introduced in the Volcanic Biome Update Part 2, and it is one of the heaviest bruisers you will meet in that region. With a massive 800 HP and 30 damage per hit, it can flatten an underprepared player in a few blows, and its walkspeed of 20 means you cannot simply outrun it once it commits to a charge. Unlike its neutral cousin, this one is aggressive on sight.
It does not wander freely — you will find it guarded by a group of Cultists in the Volcanic Biome, so engaging the Hellephant usually means fighting through extra enemies at the same time. Pull the Cultists first if you can, then kite the Hellephant around terrain, landing hits during its recovery windows rather than trading blows head-on. Strong weapons, armour and a healing buffer are essential before you start.
The payoff is excellent food: it drops 8-9 Cooked Steak, 0-2 Cooked Ribs, and a rare 0-1 Mammoth Tusk. It can also be tamed with 10 Pumpkins and 5 Cake, turning a deadly guardian into a powerful ally.
