Party Popperfish guide
New Year's Pool is the only place to find Party Popperfish, a Limited catch that appears in Winter and is currently obtainable. The game's quote is a short toast: "Cheers to 2026; Happy New Years!" Even the base XP, 2,026, is a nod to the year.
Its size is small, 2.5 kg on average (2 to 6.3 kg), and what sets it apart is the price per kg: C$675.333. That turns a light fish into an average sale of C$1,688.3, 274th of 742 documented fish by value, while its max weight is only 513th of 663. This is a fish that pays for rarity, not for size.
Five other Limited fish are documented in the same pool: Confetti Carp, Eonshell, Party Pufferfish, Sparkler Sardine and Sparkling Corkfin. Party Pufferfish in particular shares these exact numbers, so catching one counts for much the same as the other.
Verdict: a worthwhile quick catch if you are fishing the pool anyway. Over C$1,600 and 2,026 XP for a fish this light is a good return, so keep it for the sale or the collection and do not leave it behind.
