Pirate Captain's Goldfish

At C$22,570 for an average fish, the Pirate Captain's Goldfish is one of the better earners in the documented set: it ranks 76th of 742 by average value. It is a Secret-rarity catch from Forsaken Shores, found by day in Summer on Truffle Worm bait, and the description calls it a mythical goldfish beneath waterfalls said to bring fortune to rare finders.

What makes it unusual is how little it weighs. It ranges from 1.5 kg to 6.3 kg and averages 2.25 kg, which puts its maximum at 513th of 663. The money does not come from mass but from C$10,031 per kg, and the fish also pays a hefty 24,800 base XP. Few catches combine a high sale price with that much experience.

The zone sells Great Rod Of Oscar and Scurvy Rod, so you can buy a rod right where you fish.

My recommendation: this is a target worth planning for. Bring Truffle Worm, go to Forsaken Shores in Summer, and fish during the day. Do not sell it casually. Because both the price and the XP are high, think about whether you need cash or levels first, then decide, and remember that a heavier fish within its tiny range pays proportionally more.
