Precision Rod

Ancient Archives sells the Precision Rod for 0C$ plus crafting ingredients, so the real cost is the materials you bring, and you also need to meet the level requirement. The wiki calls it the counterpart to the Rapid Rod, with much better Resilience.

The stats back that up only partly. Resilience of 15 is 105th of 184 obtainable rods, which is average but clearly above the Rapid Rod's 9. Luck of 150 is 70th of 184, a decent middle-of-the-table figure. The cost of that balance is speed: Lure Speed of 20 is 161st, near the bottom, and Control of 0 is 141st of 185. Its standout is the 12,000 kg weight cap, 60th of 117 rods that list one, which handles big fish well.

In practice you get a slow, steady rod: bites take their time, but the line holds and the luck is better than in most early options. It has no passive, so there is nothing else to weigh.

Ancient Archives also sells Anchor n' Chain, Elder Mossripper, Dead Man's Rod, Cupid's Embrace and Lucid Rod, so you have plenty to compare in one visit. Verdict: pick the Precision Rod if you value patience and a sturdy line over fast cycling, and if you already have the ingredients to spare. Otherwise one of its neighbours at the same shop probably offers more.
