Ranked 195th of 198 by income, the Duckling is one step above the Frog in Lake: $4/s against $3/s, with an egg that needs 20 seconds instead of 15. It is the second of the game's five Common pets; only the Jerboa in Desert earns more among Commons.
The reward is the reason to hatch it
The Duckling Egg pays +2.2k Speed and $400. Like every Lake egg, it hands out more Speed than anything in the Forest, and the cash is exactly 100 seconds of the Duckling's own income.
To reach the 10K Speed that Desert requires using hatch rewards alone, a few combinations work:
- Four Ducklings and one Frog: 10,800 Speed
- Two Ducklings and three Frogs: 10,400 Speed
- One Turtle Egg (+2.7k) with three Ducklings: 9,300, so one more small egg is needed
Per second of growing, the Duckling yields about 110 Speed, slightly behind the Frog's 133. If both eggs are on the nest, the Frog is the quicker Speed pickup; the Duckling pays a bit more in total.
Tiny base weight, modest ceiling
Its base weight is 3 kg, the same as the Frog. According to the wiki's formula, estimated incomes are:
