The Fox Egg needs 1 minute 30 seconds to grow and pays +720 Speed and $18k. The cash alone covers a long stretch of early upgrades, and the Speed gets you most of the way to the 900 that Lake requires. Add any other Forest egg and you are through.
Fox versus Bear
The Forest has two Epics, and the difference between them is small:
