Shadow Cultist — In-Depth Analysis
The Shadow Cultist is a hostile human enemy lurking in the Caves, where it appears alongside the Brute Cultist as a worshipper of The Bat. Its stat line is a curious mix: it has a fairly chunky 120 HP but an almost trivial 5 damage per hit, so individually it is far more of a nuisance than a killer. A single Shadow Cultist will chip at you slowly while you grind down its health pool.
The threat only becomes real in context. Caves are dark, cramped, and rarely hold just one enemy, so the danger is being whittled down by several cultists at once while The Bat or a Brute Cultist applies the heavy pressure. That low per-hit damage stacks fast when you are surrounded and cannot retreat cleanly.
Practically, bring a light source and clear cultists before engaging anything bigger, since their 120 HP means each one takes a few committed swings. They have no listed drops, so treat them as obstacles rather than a farm. Fight them in a corridor where only one can reach you, and never let yourself get pinned deep in the cave network.
