Cultist Stronghold — In-Depth Analysis
The Cultist Stronghold — simply "the Stronghold" — is the marquee Special structure in 99 Nights in the Forest, and unlike the random cultist camps its rewards are guaranteed. This is a multi-floor fortress, not a quick smash-and-grab: you fight your way up through its levels to reach a locked reward room at the top, making it the closest thing the forest has to an endgame dungeon.
The payout justifies the climb. Clearing it yields one or two Cultist Experiments and one or two Cultist Prototypes (random), plus Cultist Gems, a Gem of the Forest Fragment, and both a Ruby Chest and a Diamond Chest. The Gem of the Forest Fragment is the headline pull, and the Ruby and Diamond Chests are among the richest containers in the game — this is where serious progression loot lives.
It is absolutely worth visiting, but only as a prepared, coordinated team. The floor-by-floor layout means you can't easily retreat once committed, and the random Experiments and Prototypes are dangerous high-tier foes. Bring top-tier weapons, healing, and ideally a full group, then push methodically floor to floor rather than rushing the reward room.
