MM2 Maps: Every Map, Removed Maps and Hiding Spots

Guide
By RBLXGUIDESunday, November 1, 202620 min read

Quick Summary

All 12 regular MM2 maps, the event maps and the 13 removed ones, with dates, creators, hiding spots and the wiki's date contradictions.

MM2 maps: the full list

Murder Mystery 2 has 12 regular maps in the standing rotation, 17 event maps tied to Halloween, Christmas and Summer (counting the new Haunted House 2), and 13 removed maps. The oldest regular map is Workplace (December 27th, 2014) and the newest is Research Facility (March 5th, 2020). The newest map overall is Haunted House 2, from the Halloween Event 2026.

That count follows the wiki's map pages. The wiki's Maps category also holds pages for Murder Mystery 1 maps and for a few that were never confirmed (Airport, for example, is described as a supposed MM1 map), and those are left out here. Our own list is on the Murder Mystery 2 maps page.

Below you get every map by group, with the release date and creator the wiki lists, what the wiki says about the layout and where players hide. Wherever the map pages and the Timeline or event pages give different dates, both versions are shown, because the wiki does not settle them. For the powers that fit each map, read the MM2 powers guide; the murderer tips below name the same ones. Hub: Murder Mystery 2.

Two creators account for 11 of the 12 builds on that table. Zyleak made six of the regular maps and Thexz made five. Workplace is the exception, and its creator credit is itself disputed (see below).

The regular rotation, map by map

Research Facility

The newest regular map. The wiki says it has the most interactive features of any map: a main area with a garage, machines, tubes and rooms with special features, at a size comfortable for every role. Levers in the main room open the garage or trigger an emergency lockdown that shuts doors and turns on red lights. The murderer can stab electricity boxes to shut the yellow doors remotely, or the main box to cut power to the whole facility for a while (once only). A cloning machine can go wrong in several ways (the player is burnt, turned into Nikilis, given a big head, made transparent, covered in blue liquid, teleported to the blue-liquid vat or killed on the spot), with a chance of getting a clone, and a role machine shows green for innocent, blue for the Sheriff and red for the murderer, though it is known to glitch and sometimes shows the wrong role.

Hiding spots on the wiki: the vat of harmless blue liquid, behind the far-right red tube or inside the far-left one, the toxic waste barrel, the garage, the vents, the storage area shelving, the secret room under the stairs in storage, and squeezed between the role machine and the wall. The murderer tips: use the lockdown at the start to trap people while avoiding a Sheriff outside, wait by the role machine at the start, and check the blue-liquid side first because it has more rooms.

Hospital 3

Released with the Season 1 update on May 25th, 2019, much bigger than the map it replaced. The ground level holds the lobby, office area, recovery room and an X-ray room beside a Staff Only room, with the operation room and a doctor's office upstairs and two separate vent systems. The wiki lists hiding spots such as the office closet, the bushes, behind the recovery-room walls, the vending machine by the stairs, behind the operation room door, the Dr. Nikilis room closet and the vents. Trivia: the map leaked in a JDPlayz video on November 8th, 2018, and from 2019 to 2024 a police officer stood behind the operation-room door, removed in late 2024. The murderer tips: wait upstairs at the start, set Traps at the stairs, and Haste, Sprint and Ninja suit the small size.

Hotel 2

Also from Season 1. It is a revamp of Zyleak's earlier Hotel, bigger and more complex, with a yellow-and-green Mediterranean look. Three floors surround a central area with balconies: lobby, reception and a red cinema on the first, guest room, recreation room, meeting room and boiler room on the second, and restaurant, kitchen, freezer and a luxury suite on the third. Across from the centre is a stairwell wrapped around a broken elevator shaft. The wiki says it has more hiding spots than any other map, which makes it one of the hardest maps for the murderer: potted bushes, the reception room, behind boxes in the cinema, behind the vending machines, the meeting-room closet, the luxury suite's closets and bathroom, the kitchen cabinet and freezer, and on top of the 2nd or 3rd elevator door. Murderer advice: stay near the staircase with Ninja, avoid tight corridors like the cinema entrance, and use X-Ray to find hidden players late.

Bank 2

Released October 17th, 2018 and built by Thexz as the successor to the original Bank. Rooms include a lobby, waiting room, bank teller room, vault, offices, a meeting room and vents. A metal detector links the teller room with the vault: carrying a hidden weapon through it triggers a loud beep and red flashing lights, and only the murderer, Sheriff or Hero sets it off. The vault doors can only be opened from inside the vault. The wiki describes a cramped, confusing layout, with some hallway doors that open slowly (up to about 3 seconds) on laggy devices. Hiding spots: gaps between cubicles and the wall, the locked room near the stairs (entered through the wardrobe next door), closets and bushes in the waiting and meeting rooms, and behind the vault door when open. The murderer tips: travel through the vents but leave at once if the gun holder is there, use Ninja and Haste, and use Fake Gun to bluff at the start.

Factory

Released August 27th, 2017 by Zyleak. A fairly large map with an outside area, parking room, office, box room, manufacturing room and a sewage system. Much of it is open, which the wiki says favours the Sheriff. It is one of the few maps not fully enclosed by the anticheat barrier, and a fence near the furnace is one-way: only a gunshot passes through it. Hiding spots: inside the trucks (a side button opens the doors), the room above the office, on top of the pipes, on the conveyor belt and racks, the green tube in the production room and a hidden room beyond the sewer's steel wall. Murderer tips: Sleight and Haste because the map is open, Decoy and Trap as defensive options, Sprint to catch Sheriffs outside at the start, and check the trucks, the sewer and the secret room above the office when nobody is in sight.

Police Station

Released June 10th, 2017 and the least popular current map according to the wiki, rarely chosen in votes. The map has a main entrance room, restrooms, a downstairs garage, two upstairs offices, an interrogation room and a jail with two cells. Many vents link rooms and hallways, which makes escaping the murderer easy. Hiding spots: the restrooms, a prison cell, behind upstairs office doors, inside the whiteboard in the meeting room, the garage including the yellow car, the vents, the wall behind the stone heads and on top of the upstairs televisions or shooting-range bars. The wiki calls X-Ray among the most useful powers here because the map is big and spread out. Trivia: the target-practice pictures in the shooting range show creators of other murder games, and a JD video showed two metal detectors at the entrance that were later removed for an unknown reason.

Mansion 2

Released April 15th, 2017 by Zyleak, larger than the old Mansion. Long hallways loop around two floors. The first floor has a kitchen, bathroom, lounge with fireplace, meeting room, garage and a small storage room, and the second floor has a bedroom with a passage down to the fireplace. The wiki calls it a favourite for murderer-versus-Sheriff duels and one of the most voted maps along with Mil-Base. Hiding spots: behind the picture outside the kitchen, behind the storage-room door, behind garage cabinets and on top of the garage lights and shelves, inside the refrigerator, lounge cabinets, the narrow passage between bedroom and lounge, and behind the closet beside the garage. Tips: Sleight and Ghost against a gun holder, Haste and Sprint for runners, and after killing the Sheriff, stay near the dropped gun because innocents reach it fast.

House 2

Released January 23rd, 2016 by Zyleak, a revamp of the earlier House. Rooms include the living room, kitchen, bedroom with closet, bathroom, dining room, garage, laundry room, a two-level basement and a backyard. The wiki calls it one of the best-known MM2 maps, often picked in votes and praised for size, flow and 1v1s. Hiding spots: inside the basement TV, behind the garage shelf, behind the bedroom door and bed, the shower or bathtub, behind the basement trapdoor and DJ booth, under the dining table and behind the barbecue. Many of those use the sit emote. Tips: wait until players cluster, then use Haste or Sprint; Trap works well defensively and Sleight helps in hallway 1v1s.

Office 3

Released January 23rd, 2016, the same day as House 2. It is a revamp of Office 2 with a similar layout and brighter colours, with computers instead of typewriters, a computer room, restroom vents with an elevator, and a loop that Office 2 lacked. Tight corridors and low ceilings favour the Sheriff and make it comparatively easy for innocents to win. Hiding spots are few: behind the printer, behind the water cooler and in the toilet stalls. The wiki recommends Sprint, Trap and Ninja, Fake Gun at the start of a round to draw innocents close, and Ghost to stab a Sheriff camping in the cramped hallways. The famous "Zyleak's hole" in the far right corner of the dead-end room was blocked after the R15 update and removed in 2019.

Mil-Base

Released October 24th, 2015 by Zyleak. A modern military base with a large outdoor yard (tank, crates, a toll booth and roof ladders) and a two-storey building. Downstairs: a control room, lockers, a flickering-light room, a room with Zyleak's chair and a big storage hall. Upstairs: a meeting room and an air shaft dropping into that hall. It has a door that can be closed as an interactive feature, taking about 3 seconds to shut. The wiki calls it one of the biggest and most popular maps and the outdoor area one of the most used in the game. Hiding spots: inside the giant tube (first person or shift lock needed), on Zyleak's chair, in the lockers, behind shower curtains, among the crates outdoors, in the vents upstairs and under the staircase outside. Innocent tips on the page: stay outside where there is room to run and collect coins, let the Sheriff use the tall crates to watch, and do not close the door if it might trap you with the murderer. This is the second map named Mil-Base; the first, Mil-Base (Original), was removed within days of its debut.

Bio Lab

Released October 15th, 2015 by Zyleak, his second MM2 map and described as one of the largest. A giant grey tube dominates the central hall, with side spaces for an office, a bio-tube room, a workshop, two storerooms and a vent. The layout is mostly cramped corridors and long hallways, which is why the murderer tips say throwing the knife is essential and recommend Sleight and Haste. Hiding spots: the "Evil Lair" secret area reached via the corner column of the containment room, behind the boxes in the bio-tube room, behind some bio-tubes, behind the office locker and the workshop boxes, in the vents from the workshop, and behind boxes in the storage rooms. A tiny spot also exists inside the huge pillar in the main room.

Workplace

Released December 27th, 2014, two days after the game's launch, which makes it the oldest MM2 map still playable per the wiki. It is a mid-sized layout of a kitchen, computer zone, meeting room, office, storage area and numerous corridors. The long hallway is popular for 1v1s and for murderers, while innocents dislike the few hiding spots and dead ends. Hiding spots: the kitchen fridge, behind boxes where the long corridor ends, behind office doors and behind computer desks. Tips: Haste, Ghost and Ninja, spring out in the corridor, and because the map is small you rarely need to search hiding spots. The infobox credits PartConnect (DevChris), but the trivia says that is only assumed because a computer screen reads "PartConnect was Here :D", and that the myth Zyleak built it was cleared on June 5, 2024.

Event maps

Event maps appear during Halloween, Christmas and Summer events. The wiki says Beach Resort, Yacht and Pier are the only event maps not tied to Christmas or Halloween.

Hiding spots: Farmhouse has haybales in the barn, the mansion basement, the overturned bed and a bedroom closet. Mineshaft 2 has minecarts, the sewer drain, a crate in the main area and a cave with the JD easter egg. Barn (Infection) has the space under the barn stairs, the barn roof and the house. Vampire's Castle has a passage behind the Nikilis painting and the space under the library stairs. Spaceship has the big central vent system, two dead-end vents and the cell-room door frame. The Spaceship cell room has a laser door that flashes green for players but gives an error sound and turns red for the murderer. The Manor page lists no hiding spots, but says the map hosted Scary Mode in Part 2 of the 2020 event.

The Workshop is the first seasonal map in MM2 and has the first morph in any MM2 map: stepping on a button gives an elf morph. Log Cabin hides players in the library closet, the kitchen fridge, behind presents in the basement and inside the Christmas tree. Train Station hides them in the coal, the restaurant fridge and behind the Christmas tree. Ice Castle has the coffin in the basement, the snowman, the wishing well and a hidden room behind a painting in the master bedroom.

Summer maps

Beach ResortJuly 5th, 2024ZyleakFirst Summer map; Summer Event 2023 had none
YachtJuly 18th, 2025ZyleakSeveral decks, helicopter pad
PierJuly 23rd, 2026Not listedFerris wheel, roller coaster, the most open map

The wiki calls Pier the most open map in MM2, hard for the murderer and easy for the Sheriff, and adds that jumping into the water off the edge kills you. Yacht kills you too if you jump off the back. Beach Resort hiding spots include the indoor pool (the sit emote reduces exposure), the large lockers in the changing rooms and a hidden room behind vases in the spa.

The Halloween 2026 map: Haunted House 2

The Halloween Event 2026 page says the event launched on October 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT and ends on November 16, 2026. It lists one new map, Haunted House 2, described as a revamp of the original Haunted House map and introduced for the first time in this event. The same page says the event brought back all previous Halloween-themed maps: Manor, Farmhouse, Mineshaft, Barn (Infection), Vampire's Castle and Spaceship.

The event's theme is a retro one. The 2026 lobby is smaller than a typical Halloween lobby and draws on the classic MM2 lobby of 2014 to 2018. It is also inspired by the classic haunted house map created by Shedletsky in 2006, and the voting area takes the design from the house's exterior and interior. The event trivia says the retro theme, small lobby and map echo the early days of MM2.

What we cannot tell you: as of the latest check of the wiki, there is no page named Haunted House 2, so its exact release date, creator, layout and hiding spots are not documented there. Any hiding-spot list for it would be a guess for now. Check back with the wiki and the events page for updates. The original Haunted House is a Murder Mystery 1 map and does have its own wiki page.

Removed maps and what replaced them

The wiki lists 13 removed maps. Most were replaced by a numbered revamp with the same theme.

PondJanuary 5th, 2015 (presumably)None namedBonus-round only, gone December 23, 2015

The Season 1 update on May 25th, 2019 is the big removal: Hospital 2, Lab 2 and the old Hotel went out, and Hospital 3, Hotel 2 and nSOffice came in. The wiki calls nSOffice the newest non-event map removed, and says Nikilis stated it needed optimising.

Mineshaft is the one fans asked for most. The wiki calls it the most-requested map to come back, and it did in 2022 as Mineshaft 2, though only in Halloween events. The Bank and Bank 2 pair is also worth knowing: the original Bank had the highest coin spawn rate of any map and a vault only the Sheriff could open.

Where the wiki's dates disagree

Releasing a map is easy to date. Pinning down the exact day is not, because the map pages, the Timeline and the event pages sometimes disagree. Both versions:

  • House 1 and Mansion. The infoboxes say December 25th, 2014. The Timeline lists "House and Mansion" under December 29th, 2014.
  • Farmhouse and Manor (2021 Halloween). The Halloween Event 2021 page and the map infoboxes say October 23rd, 2021. The Timeline says October 24th. Office 2's removal is dated to the same event.
  • Manor. The infobox lists two dates: October 23rd, 2021 and November 7th, 2020 (Scary Mode). The Scary Mode page gives November 8th, 2020 for the mode and the Timeline gives the same day for the second part of the 2020 event, and neither the Halloween Event 2020 page nor the Scary Mode page mentions Manor.
  • Ski Lodge. The infobox says December 21st, 2023. The Christmas Event 2023 page and the Timeline say that event started December 20th.
  • Halloween 2022 maps. The Halloween Event 2022 page says no new maps were introduced and four old maps (Manor, Farmhouse, Barn, Mineshaft) returned. The Timeline says the event includes two new maps, Mineshaft and Barn (Infection).
  • Mil-Base and Bank. The Mil-Base page says Mil-Base (October 24th, 2015) was the first map with an interactive feature. The Timeline says Bank (February 9th, 2016) was "released as the first interactive map".
  • Police Station. Its trivia calls it the first update since the 2016 Christmas Event, yet the Timeline lists Hospital 2 (February 1st, 2017) and Mansion 2 (April 15th, 2017) before June 10th, 2017.
  • Hospital naming. The wiki page titled Hospital is the map originally called Hospital 2 (added January 7th, 2015), while the separate Hospital 2 page is a different, later map by Zyleak (February 1st, 2017).
  • Research Facility inspiration. The page says it is based on Bio Lab and The Lab. The Lab 2 page says Lab 2 was later updated into Research Facility.
  • Vampire's Castle. The Vampire's Castle page and the Halloween Event 2025 trivia say it was not in the game at the start of the Halloween Event 2025 and was added four days later, while the Maps section of the Halloween Event 2025 page lists it among the Halloween maps the update returns.
  • Workshop. The trivia says it returned in all future Christmas events, but the same page and the Christmas Event 2024 page say it was missing in 2024. It was absent at launch in 2025 and re-added later.
  • Barn and Pond. Their release is only "presumably" January 5th, 2015, and the Barn lead says the map entered the game with MM2's launch.
  • Bank 2 and Research Facility machines. The Bank 2 trivia says the Research Facility machine reports "innocent" for both innocents and the Sheriff, while the Research Facility page says it shows blue for the Sheriff.

Which maps are easy or hard for each role

The wiki's descriptions suggest some patterns, but they are not stats. For the murderer, it calls Office 2 (removed) and Hospital (removed) easy, and Hotel 2 one of the hardest because of hiding spots. Open maps favour the Sheriff: Factory and Pier, and the tight Office 3 corridors too. Long loops and hallways, like Mansion 2 and Workplace, are described as good for duels and 1v1s. Innocents who want to avoid the murderer entirely are pointed to the vent-heavy Police Station, the many hiding spots of Hotel 2, and the outside of Mil-Base.

For more on what goes into a round once the map is picked, see MM2 weapons, crates and pets.

Frequently asked questions

What are all the MM2 maps?

The 12 regular maps are Research Facility, Hospital 3, Hotel 2, Bank 2, Factory, Police Station, Mansion 2, House 2, Office 3, Mil-Base, Bio Lab and Workplace. Event maps add Halloween, Christmas and Summer ones, and 13 maps have been removed.

What is the oldest map in MM2?

The wiki says Workplace, released December 27th, 2014, two days after launch, is the oldest MM2 map still playable. Mil-Base (Original) was added the same day but was removed within about 10 days.

What MM2 maps were removed?

Hospital, Hospital 2, Hotel, Lab 2, nSOffice, Bank, Mansion, House 1, Office 2, Mil-Base (Original), Mineshaft, Barn and Pond. nSOffice was the newest, removed when the Easter Event 2024 launched on April 1, 2024.

What is the new MM2 Halloween 2026 map?

Haunted House 2, a revamp of the original Haunted House map, introduced for the first time in the Halloween Event 2026 (October 18 to November 16, 2026). The wiki has no page for it yet, so release date, creator and hiding spots are not documented.

Which MM2 map has the most hiding spots?

The wiki says Hotel 2 has more hiding spots than any other map, which makes it one of the hardest for the murderer. Its page lists bushes, a reception room, cinema boxes, vending machines, closets, a kitchen freezer and the elevator doors.

Which MM2 maps are only available during events?

Halloween, Christmas and Summer maps return only during those events. The wiki says Barn (Infection) and Mineshaft 2 only return during Halloween events, and Beach Resort, Yacht and Pier are the only event maps not tied to Christmas or Halloween.

Key Takeaways

  • Every round hands out one Murderer, one Sheriff and Innocents for everyone else.
  • Rarity runs from Unique and Ancient down through Godly, Legendary and below; Chromas are color versions of some Godlies.
  • Each box lists its chance per item: the Godly is usually a 0.2% drop and its Chroma far rarer.
  • Event weapons become trade-only once the event ends; trade values are set by the community.
