Where to get Cthulhu
Cthulhu hatches from the Cthulhu Egg, part of the Luminous Egg group. According to the wiki, limited eggs like this do not spawn in the regular biome nests: they come from the Store or from special events such as Admin Abuse.

Cthulhu guide
Cthulhu is the prize of the Luminous Egg: a Divine pet worth $3B/s, four times the Terra Snapper right below it in the same egg.
The egg that replaced the Monster Egg
Update 4 swapped the Monster Egg for the Luminous Egg. The wiki does not list its price or how often Cthulhu comes out of it, only its six possible pets:
- Spike, Legendary, $15K/s
- Spirit Manta, Mythic, $75K/s
- Abyss Shark, Cosmic, $2.5M/s
- Electric Eel, Secret, $200M/s
- Terra Snapper, Eternal, $750M/s
- Cthulhu, Divine, $3B/s
The spread is enormous. Cthulhu earns 200,000 times what Spike does, so landing it versus landing anything else in this egg is the difference between a minor pen upgrade and one of the top dozen earners in the game. It ranks 10th of 14 Divine pets and 12th of 198 overall, tied with Nightflame at $3B/s.
Hatching Cthulhu twice over
Every Luminous Egg hatch has a 1% chance to turn the pet into its Luminous variant. On a Cthulhu hatch that means Luminous Cthulhu, which earns $6.5B/s, a bit more than double. The wiki calls it one of the rarest pets in the game, since it needs both the Cthulhu roll and the 1%.
Estimated income with mutations and size
The wiki lists a base weight of 13,000 kg. Using its documented formula:
- Golden: about $7.5B/s, already above a base Luminous Cthulhu
- Rainbow: about $10.5B/s
- 10× weight: about $12.4B/s
- 100× weight: about $51.3B/s
- Rainbow at 100× weight: about $180B/s
