Sand Spider guide
Of the 23 Mythic pets in Steal an Egg, the Sand Spider earns the least, which also makes it the first Mythic most players will see. It sits in the Desert at $16K/s, ranking 153rd of 198 overall, and it is one of two Mythics in that biome alongside the Scorpion.
Sand Spider or Scorpion?
The two Desert Mythics look similar on income, but their eggs behave very differently:
- Sand Spider: $16K/s, 4-minute egg, reward +12.6k Speed and $1.6m
- Scorpion: $18.5K/s, 5-minute egg, the wiki lists no hatch reward
The Scorpion earns $2.5K/s more. The Sand Spider hatches a minute earlier and pays out 12.6k Speed plus $1.6m in cash immediately. At that $2.5K/s difference, the Scorpion would need roughly ten and a half minutes just to make up the Sand Spider's cash reward, before counting the Speed.
If you are still building toward the 40K Speed needed for Jungle, the Sand Spider is the stronger egg to carry home.
A twin in the Jungle
The Jungle's Spider shares the same 120 kg base weight and the same +12.6k Speed reward, but earns $22K/s from a 4:30 egg. Think of the Sand Spider as the earlier, slightly weaker version of that pet.
Size and mutation estimates
From the wiki's documented formula:
- Golden: about $40K/s
- Rainbow: about $56K/s
- 10 times base weight: about $66.2K/s
- 100 times base weight: about $274K/s
- 200 times base weight: about $379K/s
- Rainbow at 100 times base weight: about $958K/s
The 100x figure is close to the Desert's Cosmic, Royal Sphinx ($280K/s), from a far shorter egg.
