Of the 16 pets the wiki lists for the Rift, Rift Eye earns the least: $11K/s. It is a Legendary, 11th of 21 in that rarity and 156th of 198 overall.
How the Rift hands out pets
Update 3 brought two Rift systems. A timed Rift opens every 30 minutes; you step in, fight the Overlord and earn Boss Tokens and Boss Mastery Points. Separately, a permanent Rift in the lobby asks for 3 random pets and returns one exclusive Rift Egg. That Rift runs three banners, each with five exclusive animals, rotating roughly every 3 hours and synchronized across every server.
The wiki's Rift page lists the pets of all banners and boss rewards together and does not say which banner holds Rift Eye. There is also a caveat worth knowing: the Update 6 notes say the Rift Trade-In Machine was replaced by Dr. Scramble's Laboratory, while the Rift page still describes the sacrifice. The wiki does not clarify whether that route works the same way today.
Is it worth three pets?
It depends on what the Rift asks for. On the Riftborn banner, the Easy tier requests pets like Chimpanzee ($90/s), Penguin ($140/s) and Lava Gecko ($180/s). Handing over three of those costs very little income, even if the egg gives the cheapest result, Rift Eye. A Hard request is different: Beluga Whale alone earns $850K/s, about 77 times Rift Eye.
